White Chocolate Holiday Tart recipe

A tender nut pastry is spread with a creamcheese and white chocolate mixture, topped with red and greenseedless grapes, glazed with brandied apricot preserves and garnishwith white chocolate shavings or curls.

Recipe: White Chocolate HolidayTart

Creamy Nut Pastry shell (recipe follows)1 (8-ounce) package lowfat cream cheese,softened1/4 cup finely chopped white chocolate,melted3 cups red and green California seedlessgrapes1/4 cup apricot preserves2 tablespoons brandyWhite chocolate shavings or curls

  • Whip cream cheese with electric mixeruntil light and fluffy.
  • Add white chocolate and mix until blended.
  • Spread cream cheese-chocolate mixturein bottom of baked tart shell.
  • Arrange grapes on cream cheese mixture.
  • Heat preserves until melted; strain. Addbrandy and mix well.
  • Glaze grapes with apricot-brandy mixture.
  • Decorate top with white chocolate shavingsor curls.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Makes 12 servings.

    Creamy Nut Pastry:Cream 1/2 cup butter, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanillaand 1/8 teaspoon salt. Blend in 1 cup flour and 2 tablespoonsfinely chopped almonds until mixture resembles cornmeal. Patinto bottom and sides of 9-inch tart pan. Bake at 400° F10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
