These deliciously decadent cookie bars(blondies) are laden with toasted macadamia nuts and chunks ofwhite chocolate.
Recipe: White Choco-MacadamiaBars
3/4 cup chopped macadamia nuts1 cup all-purpose flour1/2 teaspoon baking soda1/4 teaspoon salt1 large egg1 cup packed brown sugar1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract2/3 cup butter, melted4 squares white chocolate, coarsely chopped
Heat oven to 325°F (160°C).
Place macadamia nuts on a cookie sheetand bake for about 5 -7 minutes (watchclosely so they don’t burn), remove from oven and cool.
Grease an 8-inch square baking pan andset aside.
In a medium bowl combine flour, bakingsoda and salt; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the egg andbrown sugar until light and fluffy,about 3 minutes with an electricmixer on medium speed. Add melted butter toegg mixture along with vanilla. Mix well. Stirin flour mixture, mixing until just blended. Fold the choppedwhite chocolate into mixture. Stirin macadamia nuts.
Pour batter into prepared baking pan.Bake for 28 to 30 minutes, or until a woodenpick inserted in center comes out clean.Do not over bake. Place on wire rackto cool.
Makes 1 dozen bars.
