A tasty vegetarian version of Rumaki.
Recipe: Water Chestnuts Wrappedwith Bacon
1 pound sliced bacon
Cut bacon into thirds. Wrap a strip ofbacon around a water chestnut and secure with a wooden pick throughthe bacon and water chestnut. Repeat with remaining bacon andchestnuts.
Place on broiler pan. Cook until baconis crisp, turning as needed.
Mix soy sauce and brown sugar togetherin bowl.
Place cooked/wrapped chestnuts in sauceand marinate for a couple of seconds. Serve hot.
4 (8-ounce each) cans whole water chestnuts
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
