Waldorf Gelatin Salad recipe

A creamy lemon gelatin salad mold withchopped apple, celery and walnuts.

Recipe: Waldorf Gelatin Salad

2 cups boiling water
2 (3.25-ounce each) packages lemon gelatin
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 medium red apple, cored and chopped
1/2 cup sliced celery1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

  • In a large bowl, stir boiling water andgelatin until completely dissolved. Stir in cold water and lemonjuice. Refrigerate until thickened, but not firm, about 1 to1 1/2 hours.
  • Gradually whisk in mayonnaise with wirewhisk until well blended. Stir in apple, celery and walnuts,if desired.
  • Pour into a greased 5-cup mold. Refrigerateuntil firm, about 4 hours.
  • Unmold onto serving plate.

    Makes 10 servings.
