Chewy, fudgy chocolate brownies loadedwith chopped walnuts and dates, topped with a creamy chocolateglaze.
Recipe: Wal-‘Nutty’ ChocolateBrownies
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate (3 squares)
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped California Walnuts – divided use
1/2 cup chopped pitted dates
Makes about 16 brownies.
Chocolate Glaze: Combine1 square(1-ounce) unsweetened chocolate, melted with 1 tablespoonbutter and 1/4 cup milk. Blend until smooth. Add 1 1/4 cups icing(powder) sugar; stir until combined. Spread over cooled browniesand sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped walnuts.
