Veal Steaks with Yogurt recipe

These delicate veal steaks baked with crisp,sweet apples and a tart, creamy sauce are so easy to make, yetso elegant.

Recipe: Veal Steaks withYogurt

2 pounds veal steak
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 apples, cored, peeled and sliced
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1/2 cup heavy creamChopped flat-leaf parsley for garnish

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Cut veal into serving sizes of about 1/3-lb.each. Rub veal slices with salt and pepper. Heat a large, heavynon-stick pan over medium-high heat; coat with vegetable cookingspray and sear veal steaks, 2 minutes each side. Remove vealfrom pan and place in a baking dish; layer with apples.
  • Whisk together yogurt and cream; spreadover the apple and veal mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.

    Makes 6 servings.
