Recipe: Tomato Sauce East
1 cup sliced green onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger or 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 pounds fresh California tomatoes (about 6 large), peeled, seededand coarsely chopped
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped
1 teaspoon oriental sesame oil
8 ounces hot cooked pasta (optional)
