Toffee Cake Squares recipe

Chewy chocolate cookie bars topped witha creamy chocolate and maple flavored frosting sprinkled withcrushed toffee candy.

Recipe: Toffee Cake Squares

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensedmilk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
3 tablespoons milk
1/4 teaspoon maple extract
1/3 cup toffee candy, crushed

  • In a bowl, combine sweetened condensedmilk, flour, chopped walnuts, unsweetened baking cocoa, egg,vanilla, and baking powder. Pour into a greased and floured 8x 8-inch baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30to 35 minutes, or until the center is set. Cool before frosting.
  • Frosting: In a mixer bowl, beat butteruntil fluffy. Add powdered sugar and unsweetened baking cocoa;gradually add milk and maple extract. Beat until smooth. Frostcake then sprinkle crushed toffee candy on top.

    Makes 16 squares.
