Tex-Mex Meatballs in Chili Sauce recipe

Three types of ground meat, beef, porkand ham, milk-softened bits of corn tortilla and typical Tex-Mexseasoning are combined to make these tasty meatballs simmeredin chili sauce.

Recipe: Tex-Mex Meatballsin Chili Sauce

3 corn tortillas, finely chopped
1/2 cup milk
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound ground ham
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup bottled chili sauce
1 cup beef broth

  • Place chopped tortillas in a bowl withmilk; let stand for 15 minutes.
  • Add ground beef, ground pork, ground ham,chopped onion, chopped garlic clove, cumin, oregano, salt, andpepper. Mix thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Heat chili sauce and beef broth to boilingin a skillet; reduce the heat. Add the meatballs. Cover and simmeruntil done, about 15 to 20 minutes.
