Tequila Barbecue Sauce recipe

As with most tomato-based sauces and othersauces containing sugar, be careful not to brush on sauce toosoon so as not to burn.

Recipe: Tequila BarbecueSauce

1 (12-ounce) can frozen pineapple juiceconcentrate1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste1 cup tequila1/4 cup lemon juice2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar1 tablespoon finely minced garlic1 tablespoon minced canned chipotle chiliin adobo sauce (including sauce) or 1 teaspoon hot sauce

  • In a 4 to 5-quart saucepan, combine thepineapple juice concentrate, tomato paste, tequila, lemon juice,vinegar, garlic, and chipotle chili or hot sauce.
  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heatand stir often until reduced to 2 cups, about 20 minutes.
  • Use sauce, or refrigerate, covered tightly,for up to 2 weeks, or freeze.

    Makes 2 cups.

    So, I have list of chipotle powder so am thinking of subbing that on for the ancho in the rub. Love that sauce and the mustard idea. Great recipe and I would arm wrestle you for the ribs, man. And that barbecue we ve been invited to? Stick with the barbecue chicken, or that marinated flank steak. You can even have those spicy shrimp skewers. They look awesome. Just keep your paws off the ribs. They re mine.
