Tangy Buttermilk Cheese-Oat Bread recipe

A hearty and delicious, buttermilk andoat yeast bread laced with sharp cheddar cheese. A recipe forbread machines.

Recipe: Tangy ButtermilkCheese-Oat Bread

1 1/3 cups buttermilk2 3/4 cups bread flour2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup quick or old fashiioned oats2 1/2 teaspoons quick-rising active yeast

  • Place ingredients in bread machine panaccording to manufacturer’s directions or as listed above.
  • Select white bread and light crust settings.
  • Remove bread from pan to wire rack. Coolcompletely before slicing.

    Makes 1 1/2 pound loaf.

    Cook’s Tip: No buttermilk on hand?Substitute it by placing 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon white vinegarin a measuring cup and adding milk to measure 1 1/3 cups. Letset for a minute and proceed with recipe.
