Smooth and luscious, strawberry creme servedwith a sweet strawberry sauce. This dessert can be made in anyshape to fit the occasion.
Recipe: Strawberry ValentineCreme
1 (1/4-ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin(1 tablespoon)
3/4 cup cold water
1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
1 1/2 cups whipping cream – divided use
1 /2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extractStrawberry Sauce (recipe follows)
Makes 8 servings.
Strawberry Sauce:In saucepan combine 1 (10-ounce) package frozen sliced strawberries(sugar added), thawed, with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and1 tablespoon cornstarch. Cook and stir over medium heat untilthickened and clear. Remove from heat. Mix in 1 tablespoon lemonjuice; cool. Makes about 1 cup.
