Strawberry Soy Smoothie.A delicious,milk-free, soy protein-fortified strawberry smoothie.

Recipe: Strawberry Soy Smoothie

1 cup frozen strawberries, thawed,juice reserved
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup soy protein isolate, (see note)
1 cup crushed ice

  • For each serving, thoroughly mix 1/2 cupthawed strawberries, 2 tablespoons water and 2 tablespoons soyprotein isolate in a blender. Add 1/2 cup crushed ice and blenduntil smooth.
  • Serve in a tall (12-ounce) glass.

    Makes 2 servings.

    Note: Soy protein isolates are the mosthighly refined soy protein products available to consumers. Theyare a highly digestible source of amino acids: the protein buildingblocks essential for human health. Soy protein isolates containabout 90% protein. They are low in fat, calories and cholesterol.They can be bought at most health food stores and in some largegrocery stores.
