Strawberry Gelatin Salad recipe

This festive strawberry, banana and pineapplelayered gelatin salad has a ribbon of sour cream running throughits middle.

Recipe: Strawberry GelatinSalad

2 cups boiling water
1 (3.25-ounce) package strawberry gelatin
3 bananas, peeled, mashed
1 (8-ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained, crushed
3 (10-ounce) packages frozen sliced strawberries (unsweetened)
1 cup (8 ounces) sour cream

  • In a small saucepan combine boiling waterand strawberry gelatin, stirring occasionally until gelatin isdissolved, cool.
  • Add mashed bananas, pineapple, and frozenstrawberries to cooled gelatin mixture.
  • Pour half the mixture into a 13 x 9-inchpan and chill for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Spread sour cream on top. Pour the remaininggelatin mixture on top and chill until firm (at least 4 hoursor overnight) before cutting into squares.

    Makes 8 servings.
