Spinach-Topped French Bread.

Here’s a terrific way to get the kids toeat their spinach…disguised as “pesto pizza” bread!This tasty and versatile bread is great served as an accompanimentwith a meal, as the main dish itself, or as an appetizer servedin bite-sized chunks on wooden picks and accompanied with a marinaraor Alfredo sauce for dipping.

Recipe: Spinach-Topped FrenchBread

1/2 cup butter2 tablespoons finely minced onion2 garlic cloves, finely minced1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach,thawed and squeezed dry1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese1/2 teaspoon kosher or sea salt1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper totaste1 (16-ounce) loaf French bread, unsliced1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • Melt butter in small skillet or saucepan;add onion and garlic and saute until tender. Remove from heatand stir in spinach, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, salt andpepper, mixing well.
  • Slice the bread in half horizontally andplace on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Divide and spread spinach mixture evenlyonto cut sides of both halves of bread; sprinkle with Parmesancheese.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to20 minutes or until lightly browned and the cheese is melted.

    Makes 16 to 18 servings.

    But enough about these guys. Let s talk about this French bread. This French bread that s unbelievably crusty, cheesy and just loaded with everyone s favorite spinach and artichoke dip. Ollie looks like such a sweet heart, though I am sure he can get up to no good if he wants to ?? Butters looks pretty content though ^ ^ Just pay them both a lot of attention and I am sure they ll both be fine ?? What great news, and I am an itty bitty jealous, to say the least ??
