Spicy Party Crisps recipe

Cayenne puts the heat in these nutty cheesecrisps.

Recipe: Spicy Party Crisps

1 cup butter, softened4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese2 cups all-purpose flour2 cups finely chopped nuts1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper1 teaspoon salt

  • Thoroughly cream butter and cheese together.Stir in remaining ingredients, mixing well. Place dough ontoplastic wrap, foil or waxed paper and roll into a 2-inch diameterlog. Refrigerate for several hours.
  • Slice into slight 1/4-inch rounds, placeon lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 325°F (160°C)for 20 minutes or until edges brown. Transfer to wire racks tocool.

    Makes about 5 dozen.
