Recipe: Spicy Cherry andApple Chutney
1 (16.5-ounce) can pitted dark sweet cherries,drained
1 cup pared, cored and diced fresh tart apples
3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger (or 1 teaspoon ground ginger)
1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
1/4 teaspoon crushed red chiles
Makes 1 cup.
Storage tip: Store in refrigerator. Ifstoring for a longer period of time, package in freezer-proofdishes or plastic bags.
