Spicy Berry Cider recipe

Reduced calorie spiced berry hot cider.

Recipe: Spicy Berry Cider

4 cups apple cider or apple juice
1 (18-ounce) can unsweetened pineapple juice
2 cups fresh raspberries or 2 cups frozen slightly sweetenedraspberries
1 teaspoon whole allspice
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 whole nutmeg
4 packets Equal® sweetener or 1 1/4 teaspoons Equal®for Recipes

  • In a large saucepan combine apple cideror juice, pineapple juice, berries and spices; slowly bring mixtureto boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; strain to remove seeds.Stir in Equal® sweetener . Serve in mugs. Garnish each servingwith a cinnamon stick, if desired.

    Makes 7 (8-ounce) servings.

    I don t know how you did it, but when I clicked onto this page and the recipe came up, I could swear I smelled it! In a hypothetical situation where one might have ground all-spice but not the whole berries, what sort of ratio would you suggest using?
