Spectacular Chocolate Chip Scones recipe

Incredibly tender cream scones with semisweetchocolate chips in every scrumptious every bite.

Recipe: Spectacular ChocolateChip Scones

3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 cups whipping cream
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Additional granulated sugar

  • Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightlygrease a large baking sheet.
  • Stir together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, bakingpowder and salt in large bowl. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Stir whipping cream into flour mixture,stirring just until ingredients are moistened.
  • Turn mixture out onto lightly flouredsurface. Knead gently until soft dough forms (about 2 minutes).
  • Flatten dough into 8-inch rounds and cuteach into 8 wedges. Place on preparedbaking sheet.
  • Brush with melted butter and sprinklewith additional sugar.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes or until goldenbrown. Serve warm.

    Makes 16 scones.
