Smoky Tomato Barbecue Sauce recipe

Make your own barbecue sauce for chops,ribs or kabobs.

Recipe: Smoky Tomato BarbecueSauce

1 (18-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup red wine vinegar
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup spicy honey mustard
1/4 cup hickory-smoked Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne (ground red pepper)
1/8 teaspoon gound black pepper

  • In Dutch oven, combine all ingredients;bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer gently for 30 minutes,stirring occasionally.
  • Brush on during or at the end of grilling.Also serve at the table. Refrigerate leftover sauce; will keeprefrigerated for 2 weeks.

    Makes about 4 cups.

    Wow, this post is perfect timing! I have a pork roast to crockpot this morning, and I need a recipe to base my sugar free bbq sauce on. I don t have some of your ingredients, so I m going to have to wing it, but this is a great starting place! What timing- Thanks! Thanks, Mellissa! I don t know what pork butt is, but surely you don t mean 6-7 pounds of chicken breast do you? And did you put any liquid in the crock pot or did you just put in the seasoned meat?
