Smoky Salmon Spread recipe

A few drops of natural hickory liquid smokegives this salmon spread its smokiness.

Recipe: Smoky Salmon Spread

1 (15 1/2-ounce) can salmon
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
2 to 3 drops natural hickory liquid smoke
Crackers or French bread rounds

  • Drain and flake salmon.
  • Beat cream cheese with lemon juice withelectric mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in flaked salmon and green onionsuntil thoroughly combined. Season with liquid smoke to taste.Chill several hours before serving to allow flavors to blend.
  • To serve, spread on crackers or Frenchbread rounds.

    Makes 20 servings, about 2 1/2 cups spread.
