Smoky Jewels recipe

A nugget of cheese is placed atop driedfig, date and/or apricot halves and broiled just until the cheesestarts to melt.

Recipe: Smoky Jewels

Dried fruits, cut in half horizontally:
Calmyra figs
Jordan dates, pitted
ApricotsSmall pieces of Wisconsin cheese, atroom temperature:
Smoked Edam
Smoked Swiss
Smoked Cheddar
Blue cheese

  • On each opened half of fruit, place anugget of cheese.
  • Arrange on an oven-proof serving plate.
  • Broil very close to heat until the cheesestarts to melt but not ooze off the fruit.
  • Serve immediately.
