Sherried Cheese Spread on French Bread recipe

Lightly toasted thick slices of Frenchbread are spread with a mixture of mozzarella cheese, butter,Dijon mustard, hot pepper sauce and sherry, and baked until bubblyand golden brown.

Recipe: Sherried Cheese Spreadon French Bread

10 slices French bread, 1-inch thick
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Wisconsin Mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon bottled hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons dry sherry

  • Lightly toast French bread slices on bothsides.
  • In small mixing bowl, combine mozzarellacheese, butter, mustard, and hot pepper sauce. Beat at low speeduntil well-mixed. Gradually add sherry, beating until well-combined.
  • Spread onto toasted bread slices, coveringentire surface of each slice. Place on baking sheet.
  • Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat for about2 to 3 minutes or until cheese mixture is bubbly and golden brown.
