Scottish Toast recipe

French toast spiked with the Scottish liqueur,Drambuie.

Recipe: Scottish Toast

6 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup Drambuie
1 (12-inch) loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices
3 tablespoons butterMaple syrup for accompaniment

  • Whisk eggs, milk and Drambuie together.
  • Melt butter in a large nonstick skilletover medium heat. Swirl to coat.
  • Dip each slice of bread into egg mixture,coating well. Place in hot skillet and cook on each side untilgolden brown.
  • Serve immediately with maple syrup, ifdesired.

    Makes 6 servings.
