Savory Grape Jelly Meatballs recipe

Strange as it sounds, grape jelly addsa delightful sweetness to the hearty chili sauce in which thesemeatballs are simmered. They are easy to assemble and your guestswill be amazed when they find out the secret ingredient.

Recipe: Savory Grape JellyMeatballs

1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound ground turkey
2 large egg whites
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/4 cups prepared chili sauce
1/2 cup grape jelly
3 tablespoons lemon juice

  • Combine beef, turkey, egg whites, breadcrumbs, pepper and garlic powder. Form into 1-inch balls.
  • In a large skillet, mix together chilisauce, grape jelly and lemon juice. Heat over medium heat, mixingwell.
  • Drop meatballs into sauce without stirring.Cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes or until meatballs are cookedall the way through. Serve with extra sauce for dipping.

    Makes 10 servings.

    I am getting ready to try these. Two of my mother s friends were raving about these meatballs. I plan to make them for a party in a couple of weeks but wanted to try them out first. I ve heard amazing things but I ll find out tonight! Any way you could send me a recipe for 12 pounds of meatballs? I m making these as one of my wedding appetizers in a week and I m terrible with ratios!
