Recipe: Sauerkraut Salad

1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 (32-ounce) package sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
1 cup celery, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup onion, chopped

  • In a large bowl, combine sugar and oil;mix well. Add all ingredients.
  • Chill several hours or overnight beforeserving.

    Yields approximately 6 to 8 servings.

    Note: Best commercially produced sauerkrautis sold packaged in plastic bags in the refrigerated sectionof most supermarkets.
