Final results of this recipe are more thatof a sweet, light-textured bread than the cake-like texture ofa traditional Sally Lunn. A recipe for bread machines.

Recipe: Sally Lunn

1 cup warm milk
1 large egg, room temperature
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt1/3 cup granulated sugar
3 cups white bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • Place ingredients in the bread machinepan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • Select Sweet bread cycle and Light Crust;start machine.

    Makes one (1 1/2 pound) loaf.
