Based on the campfire treat, these yummycookie bars are quick, easy and a sure-fire hit with young andold alike.
Recipe: S’Mores Bars
2 cups graham cracker crumbs1/3 cup granulated sugar1/4 teaspoon salt1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted1 (12-ounce ) package milk chocolate chips4 cups mini-marshmallows
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a bowl combine graham cracker crumbs,sugar, salt and butter. Reserve 1 cupof crumb mixture and set aside. Press remaining mixturein the bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2-inch bakingdish. Bake for 12 minutes, or untilgolden brown. Cool on a rack.
In a metal bowl set over a saucepan ofbarely simmering water melt chocolate,stirring constantly. Spread evenly over baked crust; sprinklewith marshmallows, pressing them lightly.Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixtureevenly over all. Broil for 30 seconds, or until the marshmallowsare puffed and golden. Allow to cool completelyand cut it into squares.
Makes about 24 bars.
