Russian Rye Bread recipe

A recipe for bread machines.

Recipe: Russian Rye Bread

1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons warmwater
2 tablespoons barley malt extract or dark honey1 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups bread flour3/4 cup rye flour1 1/2 teaspoons caraway seeds1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • Place ingredients in the bread machinepan in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
  • Select Basic bread cycle and start machine.

    Makes about a 1 pound loaf.
