Rich Peanut Butter and Chocolate Brownies recipe

A delicious chewy peanut butter brownie(blondie, really) studded with milk chocolate chips and decorativelydrizzled with melted milk chocolate chips.

Recipe: Rich Peanut Butterand Chocolate Brownies

2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup milk
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 (12-ounce) package milk chocolate chips – divided use1/2 teaspoon vegetable shortening

  • Heat oven to 325°F (160°C). Greasea 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
  • Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugarand peanut butter in large bowl until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla;beat well. Gradually beat in milk.
  • Stir in flour and baking powder, mixingwell.
  • Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips. Spreadbatter in prepared pan.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until woodenpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  • Melt remaining 1/2 cup chocolat chipsand 1/2 teaspoon vegetable shortening in small microwave at HIGH(100%) for 30 seconds or just until melted when stirred. Drizzlebars with glaze. Allow to set before cutting into bars.

    Makes 24 to 36 brownies.
