Rich Chewy Chocolate Pan Cookies recipe

A good basic recipe for chocolatey chocolatechip cookie bars…they’re so much easier than baking a batchof cookies when you’re pressed for time.

Recipe: Rich Chewy ChocolatePan Cookies

1 1/4 cups butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Greasea 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar in large bowl untillight and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  • Stir together flour, cocoa, baking sodaand salt; gradually blend into butter mixture. Stir in chocolatechips and spread in prepared pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes or until wooden pick insertedin center comes out clean. Cool completely; cut into bars.

    Makes 48 bars.
