Powdered Sugar Glaze recipe

This almost translucent glaze firms upafter standing and gives cut-out cookies a smooth glazed surface– perfect for decorating cookies.

Recipe: Powdered Sugar Glaze

2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon almond or vanilla extract, if desired
Food color, if desired

  • Combine powdered sugar, water, butter,corn syrup and vanilla in small mixer bowl; mix until powderedsugar is moistened. Beat at medium speed until smooth, addingadditional water if necessary to reach desired spreading consistency.Tint with food color, if desired.
  • Glaze cooled cookies. Let stand untilhardened (6 hours or overnight).

    Makes 1 1/3 cups.
