Pound Cake recipe

This rich, lemon and almond fragrant poundcake is incredibly tender thanks to its secret ingredient: lemon-limesoda pop!

Recipe: Pound Cake

3/4 pound butter
3 cups granulated sugar
5 large eggs
2 teaspoons lemon extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup lemon/lime carbonated beverage

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
  • Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggsone at a time then stir in lemon extract and almond extract.Add flour and salt alternately with lemon/lime soda; beginningwith flour and ending with flour.
  • Pour into a greased and floured tube panand bake for 1 1/4 hours.

    Makes 12 servings.
