Cool and refreshing pink grapefruit sorbetinfused with Grand Marnier.
Recipe: Pink Grapefruit Sorbet
1 cup water1 cup superfine sugar1 3/4 cups fresh pink grapefruit juice1/4 cup Grand Marnier or otherorange-flavored liqueurOrange peel for garnish (optional)
Combine water and sugar in a saucepan;bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer 10 minutes or until sugardissolves; cool.
Combine sugar syrup, grapefruit juice,and liqueur. Pour into freezer container of a 2-quart hand-turnedor electric freezer. Freeze according to manufacturer’s instructionsuntil thickened (mixture will not freeze firm).
Spoon into an 11 x 7 x 1 1/2-inch dish;cover and freeze until firm.
To serve, spoon into dessert dishes. Garnishwith orange peel, if desired.
Makes 4 cups.
