Peppered Sirloin Steak recipe

A thick sirloin steak is brushed with seasonedbutter, broiled to perfection and served drizzled with a portionof reserved seasoned butter.

Recipe: Peppered SirloinSteak

1 (2 1/2-pound) sirloin steak, 1 1/2-inchesthick1/2 cup butter or margarine1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (or 4 teaspoonsdried parsley)1/4 cup finely minced onion2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce1 teaspoon freshly ground coarse pepper1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

  • Lightly score edges of steak at 1-inchintervals. Preheat grill or broiler.
  • Combine butter, parsley, onion, Worcestershiresauce, pepper and mustard in a small saucepan. Heat stirringcontinually, over low heat, until butter melts. Reserve 1/4 ofthe mixture.
  • Place steak on grill or broiler pan. Brushsteak with butter mixture. Cook, basting frequently with buttermixture, about 6 minutes per side for medium.
  • Place steak on a serving platter. Cutinto thin slices across the grain. Drizzle reserved butter mixtureover steak and serve.

    Makes 6 servings.
