Penuche Frosting recipe

This brown sugar buttercream frosting tasteslike caramel, it’s wonderful on yellow, banana and spice cakes.

Recipe: Penuche Frosting

1/3 cup butter2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed3 tablespoons milk2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butterover medium heat. Stir in brown sugar. Cook and stir until justbubbly. Remove from heat. Add the milk, beating vigorously untilsmooth. By hand, beat in enough powdered sugar to make a frostingof spreading consistency.

    Frosts one (13 x 9-inch) cake.
