If you love pecan pie, then you’ll lovethese cookie bars.
Recipe: Pecan Pie Bars
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixer bowl, combine flour,1/2 cup butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Press into the greased9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until goldenbrown.
Meanwhile, in a mixer bowl, beat eggs,light corn syrup, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter,and vanilla until well blended. Stir in pecans. Pour evenly overthe hot crust.
Bake for another 25 minutes, or untilfirm around the edges and just set in the center. Cool beforecutting.
1 cup butter or margarine – divided use
2 cups granulated sugar – divided use
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups pecans
Makes 24 bars.
