Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Bars.

Bars are a great alternative to cookies.Just spread the dough into a pan, bake and voila! A funand welcome treat to pack into a sack lunch.

Recipe: Peanut Butter ChocolateChunk Bars

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (11.5-ounce) package or 2 cups NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE®Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine flour and baking soda in a smallbowl. Beat brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and granulatedsugar in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Beat in egg and vanillaextract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chunks. Pressinto ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan, distributing chunksevenly.
  • Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until centeris set. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

    Makes 36 (3 dozen) bars.
