Peanut Butter Chip Squares recipe

A cookie bar with a chewy peanut buttercrust topped with a sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter chipand nut mixture.

Recipe: Peanut Butter ChipSquares

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 (10-ounce package peanut butter chips – divided use
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 large egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar (optional)

  • Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Stir together flour and brown sugar inmedium bowl; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Stir in1/2 cup peanut butter chips; press mixture on bottom of 13 x9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine sweetenedcondensed milk, egg and vanilla; stir in remaining chips andwalnuts. Spread evenly over baked crust.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  • Cut into squares. Sift powdered sugarover top, if desired.

    Makes 24 squares.
