Old Fashioned Rice Custard recipe

One of the comfort foods, baked rice custardwith golden raisins.

Recipe: Old Fashioned RiceCustard

1 1/2 cups milk
3 large eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup seedless golden raisins

  • Combine milk, eggs, vanilla, sugar andsalt in large bowl. Stir in rice and raisins.
  • Pour into greased 1-quart baking dish.Place dish in larger pan filled with about 1-inch hot water.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350°F (175°F)1 1/4 hours, stirring once after 30 minutes.

    Makes 4 servings.

    I love this recipe. Crazy as it sounds, I might want to try this with brown rice. I think it might work . this is total comfort food. Well done.
