Oatmeal-Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars.

Recipe: Oatmeal-ChocolatePeanut Butter Bars

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter – divided use
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 1/3 cups quick oats (uncooked) – divided use
1 2/3 cups (10-ounce package) NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE®Milk Chocolate Morsels – divided use

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt insmall bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, 1/2 cuppeanut butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beatin flour mixture. Stir in 2 cups oats. Remove 1 1/2 cups mixtureand reserve for topping. Spread remaining dough in prepared pan.Carefully spread with remaining peanut butter. Sprinkle with3/4 cup morsels.
  • Combine reserved topping with remainingoats until crumbly. Stir in remaining morsels. Drop by spoonfulsover filling.
  • Bake for 28 to 32 minutes or until topis deep golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cutinto bars.

    Makes 24 bars.
