Applesauce adds moisture and sweetnessto these oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
Recipe: Oatmeal and ChocolateChips Cookies
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the sugar and butter in a largebowl and cream together. Add the applesauce, egg and vanillaand beat well to incorporate; set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together the flour,baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. Add, a bit ata time, to the butter mixture, beating to combine after eachaddition. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto bakingsheets.
Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until goldenbrown.
Remove from the oven and allow to standon the sheet for about a minute, then transfer to a wire rackto cool.

Makes 36 cookies.
