Recipe: Oat Herb Bread
1 1/3 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon Italian spice blend1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 cup quick or old fashioned oats2 1/2 teaspoons quick-rising yeast
Makes 1 1/2 pound loaf.
Cooks Tip: No buttermilk on hand?Substitute it by placing 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon white vinegarin a measuring cup and adding milk to measure 1 1/3 cups. Letset for a minute and proceed with recipe.
