Nutty Northwest Cheesecake Supreme recipe

Delicious, vanilla cheesecake with a nutcrust and topped with cherry pie filling.

Recipe: Nutty Northwest CheesecakeSupreme

1 1/2 cups finely chopped nuts
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
3 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 (21-ounce) can cherry pie filling

  • Combine finely chopped nuts, 2 tablespoonssugar, and melted butter. Press onto the bottom of a 9-inch springformpan. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, combine softened cream cheese,1 cup sugar, and flour; mixing at medium speed with an electricmixer until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing wellafter each addition. Blend in sour cream and vanilla; pour overthe crust.
  • Bake at 450°F (230°C) for 10 minutes.Reduce the temperature to 250°F (120°C) and continuebaking for 1 hour.
  • Loosen the cake from the rim and coolbefore removing. Chill.
  • Top with cherry pie filling just beforeserving.

    Makes 12 servings.

    Nope, not a typo! You have to bake it for three hours because the oven is at such a low temperature. I think the low temp helps keep the cheesecake from cracking and makes it so you don t have to bother with a water bath like you do with most other cheesecake recipes. Three years later, this is still the best cheesecake I ve ever had so for me it s always worth the extra time! r u this this isn t a typo? bake for 3 HOURS??!! not criticizing as much as wondering and asking because I ve baked a lot of cheesecakes but never for more than and hour with an hour in the oven with it off ..other than that I know how popular it s going to be thanks for the recipe ..
