Flaky crescent dough surrounds a warm fillingof apple, brown sugar and cinnamon, like individual apple pies.A scoop of vanilla ice cream completes the picture.
Recipe: Mrs Sabin’s KiddieTarts
1 (10-ounce) can refrigerated crescentrolls
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Open crescent rolls and flatten on a flouredsurface. Sprinkle half of the dough pieces with 1 teaspoon brownsugar each. Place 1 teaspoon of the butter in the center of eachand cover with 1 tablespoon apple pie filling. Sprinkle withanother 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon.
Place a second piece of dough on top ofeach tart and press edges together. Brush each tart with 1 teaspoonmelted butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
6 teaspoons firmly packed brown sugar – divided use
8 teaspoons butter – divided use
4 tablespoons apple pie filling
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Makes 4 tarts.
