Molly’s Dessert Bars recipe

Molly’s dessert bars have a yellow cake-mixcrust topped with a cream cheese filling.

Recipe: Molly’s Dessert Bars

1 (18.25-ounce) package yellow cake mix
4 large eggs, beaten – divided use
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts

  • In a mixing bowl beat yellow cake mix,egg, and melted butter. Beat till thoroughly combined. Pressthe mixture into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Beat 3 eggs, cream cheese and vanillauntil creamy. Beat in powdered sugar until smooth. Pour overthe crust.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in panon a wire rack. Garnish with 1/4 cup powdered sugar and choppednuts. Cut into squares.

    Makes 36 bars.
