Buttery mocha-flavored nut cookies rolledin powdered sugar.
Recipe: Mocha Nut ButterBalls
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa2 teaspoons powdered instant coffee1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup butter1/2 cup granulated sugar2 teaspoons vanilla extract2 cups pecans, finely choppedPowdered sugar for rolling
Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
Combine flour, cocoa, instant coffee andsalt together in a medium-sized bowl. Set aside.
Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla untillight and fluffy. Stir in flour mixture; add pecans and mix well.
Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreasedcookie sheets.
Bake for 17 to 20 minutes or until lightlygolden.
Roll in powdered sugar while warm andcool on wire racks. Once cooled, repeat rolling in powdered sugar.Store in tightly covered container.
Makes about 4 dozen.
