Minted Simple Syrup recipe

Use this refreshing syrup to sweeten avariety of beverages.

Recipe: Minted Simple Syrup

1 cup granulated sugar1 cup water2 tablespoons light corn syrup1 1/2 cups packed fresh mint leaves, chopped

  • In a saucepan bring sugar, water, cornsyrup and mint to a boil, stirring untilsugar is dissolved. Simmer syrup, undisturbed, 2 minutes. Poursyrup through a fine sieve, pressing on solids.Cool at room temperature.
  • Syrup keeps, covered, in the refrigeratorfor weeks.

    Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
