Mini Chip Cut-Out Cookies recipe

Mini Chip Cut-Out-Cookies.

These refrigerator cookies are dotted withtiny chocolate chips. Vanilla frosting with a drizzle of meltedchocolate completes the decoration.

Recipe: Mini Chip Cut-OutCookies

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg yolk
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 (12-ounce) package NESTL ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-SweetChocolate Mini Morsels – divided use
1 (16-ounce) package prepared vanilla frosting, colored if desired

  • Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar,vanilla extract and salt in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beatin egg yolk. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in 1 1/2 cups morsels.Divide dough in half; cover. Chill for 1 hour or until firm.
  • Roll half of dough to 1/4-inch thicknessbetween two sheets of waxed paper. Remove top sheet of waxedpaper. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters. Lift from waxedpaper; place on ungreased baking sheets. Chill for 10 minutes.Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Bake in preheated 350°F (175°C).oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on bakingsheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.Spread with frosting; pipe with melted chocolate.
  • To Pipe Chocolate: Place remaining morselsin heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for45 seconds; knead. Microwave for additional 10 seconds; kneaduntil smooth. Cut tiny corner from bag; squeeze to pipe chocolate.

    Makes 36 cookies or 3 dozen.

    As you can see, this dough holds its shape really well as it bakes. It puffs up a tiny bit, but doesn t really spread at all. Perfect cookie cutter dough! Im sorry .i was checking out these comments just in case anyone did something different with the recipe and then i saw you were adding this to healthy homemade treats ..what is healthy about these cookies? I only see unsalted butter and the egg yolk but the all purpose flour and all the sugar is quite just the opposite. If perhaps the flour was substituted with spelt flour and the brown sugar was replaced with honey or succant and possibly the white sugar was replaced with maybe some maple syrup then we would be going in the general direction but cookies are mostly just yummy. I mean no disrespect. I just find it interesting what we deem as healthy for one another ..take care
