Marbled Peanut Butter Cookies recipe

Peanut butter, an American original, andchocolate make a delightful combination. These easy cookies havea decorative swirl of chocolate baked through them.

Recipe: Marbled Peanut ButterCookies

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – divided use
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • In a small saucepan, melt chocolate chipsover low heat, stirring often; set aside.
  • Combine butter and peanut butter untilmixed. Add 1/2 cup flour, sugar, honey, egg, baking soda, bakingpowder and vanilla; mix well. Stir in remaining flour. Drizzlechocolate into dough and gently swirl through. Refrigerate for1 hour.
  • When dough is chilled, preheat oven to375°F (190°C).
  • Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with bottomof a glass. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until beginning to brownaround the edges. Remove from oven and let cool.

    Makes 36 cookies.
